How Scores Work

Understanding our scoring methodology and what the numbers mean

Score Range: 0-100

All scores are on a scale of 0 to 100, where:

80-100
Excellent (Grade A)
65-79
Good (Grade B)
50-64
Moderate (Grade C)
35-49
Needs Improvement (Grade D)
0-34
Poor (Grade E)

Score Calculation

Each category score is calculated using a hybrid approach:

CategoryScore = BaseScore + SentimentAdjustment + TrendAdjustment - RiskPenalty
  • Base Score: Derived from normalized objective data
  • Sentiment Adjustment: Community sentiment and perception (-10 to +10)
  • Trend Adjustment: Recent improvements or declines (-5 to +5)
  • Risk Penalty: Identified risks and concerns (0 to -15)

Persona Scores

Persona scores are calculated deterministically by weighting category scores based on what matters most to each persona:

PersonaScore = Σ (CategoryScore × PersonaWeight)

For example, "Family with school-going kids" heavily weights School & Child Development and Crime & Safety, while "Young Professional" prioritizes Commute & Mobility and Digital & WFH Readiness.

Data Sources & Updates

Our scores are based on:

  • Public datasets (Census, UDISE+, AQI stations, transport data)
  • Government documents and municipal schedules
  • Aggregated, anonymized resident sentiment
  • Infrastructure and civic data

Scores are updated quarterly to reflect current conditions. Every score includes version information and methodology details.

Important: Scores are informational summaries based on aggregated data and may not reflect individual experiences. They are designed to support decision-making, not replace personal judgment or site visits.
